Sanctuary in the City

Here’s another shot from the fire escape in the Richmond District. One would be hard pressed to find a better view anywhere in San Francisco. This shot was generated with Photomatix Pro blending three photos at three different shutter speeds. The end result is called HDR, or “High Dynamic Range”. Just west of Main Street in Ft. Bragg, rest some of the old Skunk trains, having seen their better days running the rails through the mountains between Willits and the coast.

Here’s a view from above the the cove at the Harbor House, near Elk. I’m still thinking about what a memorable weekend that was. Throughout my travels, I know there’s no place quite like this stretch of the coast, made even better by sharing the good food, weather, and recreation with someone special.

Above Pt. Reyes

This is from our campsite on a recent trip to Point Reyes National Seashore above Drakes Bay.  It’s a wonderful place to get away from the city.  The park offers several back-country campsites with miles of trails.
